iTune tv show no descriptions?

Recently anytime I download any tv show or movie off of iTunes I no longer get in the description panel what that tv show/movie is about. Why? Whe I watch shows like bleach where episodes are numbered I'd like to be able to see what that episode is about. Is anyone else having this issue? If so do you know how to resolve it? Any help would be greately appreciated.

I am having the same issue. When I first contacted customer support, the guy just blew me off. I told him that I attempted to add the description manually but the regular 'Get Info' editor (if that's what you can call it) would not place the full description. He suggested that I just live with the partial description and send a request for a more full featured editor. I got real nasty after that and got a hold of a supervisor who said that she would escalate the issue to the content team. So who knows how long it will take! I don't think I will purchase any more content until it is fixed. Too bad we can't get everyone to do that. They would probably fix the issue a lot faster.

Sometimes I wonder why these iTunes support staff can't simply forward quality issue feedbacks or complains to the so-called investigation team. It's not that difficult. On top of that, these support staff are not equiped enough to check any quality issue. Why? They are basically using the same iTunes 30 seconds preview like the rest of us. Really. One example, how are these support staff able to check surround sound track when they don't have the hardware to begin with? You say, VLC software. Ya, these staff use 2.0 speakers.

No kidding!!! You would think that a company like Apple who has made its name (according to its advertising) on quality products that promote a lifstyle because they just work would place much more emphasis on customer service. It's like the customer service guy would rather spend more time coming up with a lame response then taking a second to actually check your issue out for themselves. And, even if they can't fix my problem themselves, they should know someone that can! They do work for Apple, right? It's infuriating!

I contacted some friends who I know purchase content from iTunes. I had them check any item downloaded in the last six days. Everyone of them that had downloaded an item in the last six days is missing the description. I had three separate friends purchase (on promise of reimbursement from me) a TV show and they downloaded without the description. They were different shows that I have in my library with a description (I downloaded them much earlier than six days ago) and each had no description once downloaded.

Should we start a pool on how long it takes to get fixed?

Sorry about the rant, I'm a little upset.

Feel your frustration.

I have at least 15 video purchases with video and audio glitches not fixed in years! At least one TV Show with episodes in different aspect ratios. And the one I hate most, BONES. Episodes come with advertising front and back. The store reissued episodes without ads and I can't redownload them with iCloud. I get the same downloads with ads. Really p---ed me off. LEVERAGE too. Argh!!!

Download Subler (free) or iDentify (paid Mac App Store) - both will let you edit iTunes video metadata. I'm in the same boat as you guys and until Apple fix it I'm having to do a web search for the video name + iTunes (because, of course, you can't select/copy text within the iTunes store) and then using an extra piece of software to restore video descriptions. iOS Maps, coating on phones that chips off easily, files somehow losing elements of metadata...Apple's slipping badly.

We paid for the contents. Why should we users be inconvenient to find a workaround? Really beyond me.

Anyhow, before the support staff start blaming the networks and studios for the missing description tag, you can tell them that the description are available in full view at the store. It's the store servers not serving up the description tags. It's probably some xml screw-up.

Aussieguyinnyc - You don't have to do a search to include the URL to an iTunes Store page in an email or other program, drag a link, track, or graphic from a page in the iTunes Store to your email program or other application. You can also right-click the item and choose Copy iTunes Store URL. BUT, we shouldn't have to do their job for them.

I sent them an update with all the information I found and links to online reports of similar occurrences. I received this message yesterday (10/17/2012):

Hello Robert,

Thank you for your patience as Apple's content team investigates this issue.

Apple is working toward a resolution of the issue you reported. Your experience with the iTunes Store is of the utmost importance. Your request is flagged for follow-up and you will be contacted once we have more information.

Sincerely,

So, we will see what happens. I'll update if I receive anything else.
