I have purchased some DVDs, how to paly them on my Apple TV? I dont wanna use some additional equipment if it's not necessary. What I need is a simple way to do the trick without spending money.

How do you intend to play the DVD's? If it is on a Mac you can Airplay Mirror if you have the OS 10.8 or newer with a Mirror supporting Mac (mid 2011 or later for most Macs or early 2011 MacBookPro). If not you would need an app like air parrot but that does mean spending 10 bucks.

Either Mac or Windows, I think you can use a DVD converting software to make the DVDs to MP4 or other common formats that Apple TV supports. Hello, Apple TV 3 has no a drive to play DVDs, so you have to use a DVD Ripper to rip it to Apple TV video format.
