iPad stolen, probably factory reset.. serial number traceable when connected with iTunes again?

Hi all,

Our iPad was stolen from our home last week, and it does not show up on 'find my iPad/iPhone'. I think the thief did a factory reset on the iPad..

But when an iPad is reset, it has to be connected to iTunes again, right? So is there a red flag going up at Apple's side?, because the iPad's serial number is still registered to me?

Kind regards from The Netherlands,

Wouter

iPads can be activated without connecting to iTunes when they are running iOS version 5 or later.

No. Apple is not a law enforcement agency. You need to report it to the police.

If you don't know your lost/stolen iPad's serial number, use the instructions below. The S/N is also on the iPad's box.
