It would seem that iMovie 11 does not support most good camcorders which record in 1080!
Is that true? If so, do most HD camcorders allow you to choose recording at 720 instead? ;Is that reasonabley good?:

iMovie '11, Mac OS X (10.6.8), which camcorder?
This is not true. I have been shooting 1920x1080 and editing with iMovie since 2007.
However, iMovie will not natively edit 60P. You only need 60P if you are trying to do very high quality slow motion. Most 60P cameras have a 30p setting.
Thanks for your reply. But which iMovie was this? I am using iMovie 11. Many Sony and Canon camcorders cannot be edited with iMovie 11 if the footage is recorded in 1080. What camcorder are you using please?
I am using iMovie 11 with a Panasonic, but many people here use Sony. Virtually all Sony's made since 2007 will work in iMovie 11.
