Benefit of adding an SSD for OSX + Applications?

Turns out my iMac is one of the ones eligible for a replacement hard drive.

I was just wondering if it would be worth investing in an SSD and asking the techs to put it in and set it up with OSX and applications while they were about it?

My background is web design - so using Adobe CS on a daily basis.
