IPad 1 app update problem

I have an iPad1 and I am getting updates for apps that require ios 6. I can't download the update because iPad1 can't have ios 6. Does anyone know how I can get rid of the update notificatio?

What is to prevent you doing the updates even though they will be of no consequence?

When I try to do that I get a message saying "you need iOS 6 to make this update". Therefore I can't update it and I can't remove it. I think I may have quite a few like this in the future. Did Apple think of this when they decided that iOS 6 couldn't be used on the iPad 1. This is the worst kind of built in obsolescence and a product that is newer than my phone, or TV is not being supported by Apple. Is this a way to reward customer loyalty?
