Q: how do I upgrade my operating system I have Os x v. 10.4.11

I want to upgrade one of my old Mac's with a new operating system. Can I do this and how? Do I need to take it into

the Mac Store or can it be done online?

    If it's a G3, you can't.

If it's a G4 or G5, purchase a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay.

If it's an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
