My wireless mouse has stopped working. I have new batteries, a green light and have restarted my computer. Now what?

I cannot get my wireless mouse to work with my desktop. I have changed the batteries and have a green light. I have restarted my computer but cannot get the mouse to engage. The bluetooth icon has three dots across the middle. Does anyone know what I can do?
