Why on Earth is there no CROSSFADE feature with itunes on the iPod TOUCH or IPHONE???

A total head skratcher here. I recently upgraded to the 5th Gen ipod Touch and, seeing as how it works great on my Nano, and I just assumed thart the Crossfade feature would be included on the IOS6 5th gen Ipod Touch, but it was nowhere to be found. Ended up downloading an abysmal 3rd party version (AutoMix XFade) that doesn't work at that great, so I'm beside myself as to why Apple would be remiss in including this function on there new ipod lineup.

Anyone have any ideas or info on this???

Apple has not said why. You can make a suggestion to Apple here.

That feedback is useless. If it actually was used to improve software, lots of the bugs in the music app would be fixed. I still wonder why the bug hasn not been fixed in music revolving around the problem checking live update in itunes messes up song order on the iphone and ipad. Its been a problem for over a year, and has not been fixed in any of the ios updates in that time. The music app is getting worse. Why my nano that is the size of a quarter and with much less processing power than the ipad can crossfade playback and the ipad cannot is pathetic. The music app in the older nanos is far better than the ipad.

Confounding the issue is actually going into my local Apple store and talking to their most "qualified" genius and him being perplexed and saying to me "they don't have cross fade on the touch and iPad???" Adding that this was news to him and that he didn't have an answer why it wasn't included on the new devices.

Lame!

Yes, a lowly employee at an Apple Store would know corporate policy as to why crossfade is not included. Only Apple Executives would know and they haven't shared that information with anyone.

It's like this... TFB! or TO FRACKING BAD! The iPod touch first and iOS afterwards has never supported crossfade. You have it available on the iPod nano but not the iPod touch. They should rename the iPod touch to iPad micro or something. This is something that has been needed to be addressed for a long time now. I know, let's blame it on Scott Forstall!
