iPhone 5 calls go straight to voice mail

This happens sometime, not always.

The caller heard one rang then the call went direct to voice mail.

I was in the full bar services area and can still receive email and IM via LTE, but I did not see any missed call notification nor incoming calls.

This happenes to my AT&T iPhone 5.

The Do Not Disturb and Airplane Mode are both off

How can I fix this?

hi there! I had exactly the same problem as you, so i'll tell you what I did to get it fixed. do not disturb was never on. I rechecked that in settings. resetting network settings didn't work either. what you have to do is go into settings, go to phone, go to announce calls, click always. try to call yourself a few times. after that, it worked for me. good luck!

I have not. It works better if I turn off LTE completely, but then texting and internet is slowed. It only happens up be in bad cell coverage areas, like at work, so I have just been dealing with it. Some co workers have the same issue and they don't have iPhones or AT&T. So, it's all over. Cell phones are not as dependable as we would hope.

Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. That should do it.

This has been happening to me, too. I don't believe that resetting the Network Settings will fix it. I called Apple support a few days ago about this issue and they told me to do a full reset of the device and restore from backup, which I did. So far, the problem has happened twice since then. Restarting the phone does make the phone start 'working' again (I will know when someone is calling) - until the next time it stops working properly . . .

No solid solution as far as I know. I experienced it for the first time today.

I've reset the network settings stated above and it may have worked. It's interesting that when I tried test calling myself from a landline, I see the LTE kicks down to 4G signal, then back up to LTE when the call is done. The data band and cell band are different right? It may be an intermittent downtime on AT&T's end rather than an iPhone issue.

I have the same issue happening to me. I have had calls go directly to voicemail without the phone ringing, and I don't receive the voicemails until 20-30 minutes after the call. I also have friends telling me that they arent receiving some text messages or picture messages. It seems to happen with Tmobile folks. Not sure whats up, all I know is this never happened with my Verizon 4S. AT&T referred me to Apple, and Apple said to reset the phone and restore if it continues to happen.

I'm on the same boat! It's a big problem to have! I have iPhone 5 on AT&T and people can't reach me, voice mail shows up 20-30 min later. I can't work with this type of service... I tried everything there is, resetting network settings, restoring, changing phones. Nothing works... Something is blocking sell service from coming through. Is there a way to get SMS reminder of the calls we miss? I know in Europe they have that option and its a lifesaver. Something needs to be done or at least investigated.
