Data leak with iphone 4s IOS 6?

No fix and no admission of any problems. Shades of their antennae problem. Denial!!

I'm having a similar issue with data leaks. I went cheap on the data plan and over the last few days, my data is jumping by leaps and bounds on my phone. Yesterday, I had 50mb left and at 5:30 this morning, AT&T sent my a text to tell me that I was over my limit.

And I have turned it off and on again.

When the phone is in standby, the WiFi radio is shut down to conserve battery power. This is by design and the way the iPhone has always worked.

If you don't want it to use your cellular data plan at all, either connect the phone to a power source, or turn off cellular data entirely.

Two iPhone 4S's both at iOS 6. One is chewing through data to the order of 900MB every 4 days and the other is at 15 MB per day. Prior to iOS 6 upgrade both phones were at the 15 MB a day average. Have called AT&T twice and Apple twice and neither have helped.

The great feelings I have for my iPhone are rapidly waning.

Here was a little test: closed all apps except settings, connected to wifi via Apple time machine, cellular data off, reset cell data usage, forced all apps to use wifi, no iCloud. Turned on cell data and watched. Within 10 minutes, 7 KB were sent 5 KB recd. after an hour, 28 KB sent and 37 KB recd.

Please fix this Apple.

I am also having the same problem so is my wife. I have never had a problem with this before on any of my iPhones in the past. Our phones are always plugged in to either a computer or a wall outlet. In the past 4 years of having iPhones we have never had a message pop up on our phones from At&t saying we used 90% of our data plan until we updated to iOS to 6.

This is occurring when my phones are plugged in AND not plugged into power source.

How do you turn off the cellular data entirely? Don't you think this is ridiculous that we would have to do this?

Yes, turning cellular data off/on all the time is preposterous to expect a customer to do and is causing my good feelings for my iPhone to wane.

Turn Cellular on/off: settings > general > cellular > slide "Cellular Data" to off

This is the same problem that I'm having, with a post iOS6 upgrade. Except not at 900mb every four days.

Do you have an Exchange account set up on your phone? Disable or delete it and see if the traffic stops or at least significantly slows down.

There has been threads regarding this issue made on here already about the iPhone 5 doing this. Some people thought it had to do with their service providers but I live in Canada and it's doing it up here as well so it's an Apple issue. The only basic thing to do for now is to turn the Cellular Data off until it's fixed

My wife never uses cell data. Prior to iOS6 she would use less than 100mb a month. This month she is at 500mb. That's over her 200mb limit 2x in one month. SHe has never gone over before now.

Well Rogers has finally admitted that there is a problem with the iOS6.
