Oct 15, 2012 10:55 PM in response to Aussie Jayby Don Archibald,The problem is that the Startup Disk control panels native to all OS's earlier than OS 9.2.x can not 'see' any version of OS X as a viable operating system - they just weren't coded to do that.
The solution is to download and install the Startup Disk control panel v. 9.2.1; this is available as a separate download -
Startup Disk 9.2.1 Document and Software
Note - the readme that accompanies that download indicates it is for OS 9.1. This is correct, but it has been tested on earlier versions of OS 9, and even with OS 8.6, and has worked with all of those.
