Here is the problem. Please help.
My iMac (early 2008) has an empty drive inside. I was booting from an external drive my Mountain Lion. The last 2 days I've experienced sudden disconnections-ejections of that drive. Now I'm in a cituation that I cannot even start my iMac. Nothing, just black screen. It doesn't even try to boot.
Please, can help?

What Brand & model is this external drive?
Several have flaky AC PSUs that give out prematurely.

Does anything show as a boot source if you hold alt kjey at bootup?
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.
Thanks again for your time. No keys are available cause it doesn't even try to boot, in order to find sources.
If I disconnect the drive from usb and try to put the old original boot disks in Super Drive, it would work?

I had burn the Ac adaptor... I did fixed it. :-)

The hard drive was destroyed also. I also changed it. Now it works like a charm.
