Kevbot, Your answer makes perfect sense. And it helps by explaining why it happens. My client and I both decided that we have to go back to using Microsoft Word.

I work at home on Pages on my laptop. At the office I work only on Word. Now when I go to the office to work on Word, do I have to start copyediting the 40-some-page file all over again in Word? Or is there some way to get the tracked changes I made on the Pages file to appear on the Word file?

Can you tell me how to go about rescuing the changes I made and putting them into a Word file from Pages?

    MacBook Air (11-inch Late 2010), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), Pages 09

Makes sense. Do I have to start all over again working in Word, or can I retrieve the copyediting with tracked changes that I did to the Pages file and apply them to the Word file that I will create in the office?

    So what were you doing?

Saving a copy as Word? You didn't say.
