Q: iPhone 5 - Change/Choose International Carrier

Is there a way to change or choose the carrier my iPhone 5 uses while I am travelling internationally?

I have a US iPhone 5 and want to be able to choose a specific carrier while travelling overseas.

You could just purchase a go pre-paid phone or gophone with a Nano-SIM and swap its SIM into the iPhone.
