iPhone 5 sleep and wake button is not responding well.

Are you using a case to protect the iPhone? If you are try taking it off and seeing if the button works normally then.

If you don't have a case on the iPhone, try restarting or restoring the iPhone.

If that doesn't take care of it, the iPhone will need service.

If you need sevice you can take it to a Apple Retail Store www.apple.com/retail or you could call AppleCare.

All iPhone 5's are still under warranty, as long as it wasn't caused by accidental or intentional damage... The repair would be free.

I had the same problem. Took my iPhone to an Apple store and they swapped it out for a phone that came in a plain white box.

Same here works sometimes then other times it doesn't i have not got a case on either so it's not that it even turns its self off sometimes too?!

I had the exact same problem.. I phoned apple care and they replaced it for me. It's a hardware issue and covered under warranty.
