can i choose the update for apple tv

Having trouble as so many are with my 2nd gen apple tv dropping the home network since the update. I would like to go back to the last software install. Hey apple. . . you should fix this. . . We are all having trouble. You have made my box useless. I am a big fan of apple, but it would be difficult to sell a friend on this box if it won't keep the network through one show. . .
