I have iPod touch (4th gen.) and I want to buy iPhone 5 now. How can I transfer the date between the two?

I have iPod touch (4th gen.) and I want to buy iPhone 5 now. After getting a new iPhone 5, I want to give my iPod touch to my son. Before doing so, I want to make sure how the data in my iPod touch can be transferred to my new iPhone 5. Also, I want to know if I should have more than one account of the Apple ID. Could anybody help me? Many thanks! 🙂

Connect your touch to the computer. In iTunes, right click on the device, select back up now.

You can chose to leave the data on the device or wipe it clean, ur call.

With the new device, all you have to do is connect to itunes and restore from backup by right clicking on your device.

As far as using the same apple account, its your call as well. if you want your kid to have the access to the same apps as you, you can share one account. I would suggest a different apple id, so that you can track what gets downloaded by him and not giving access to all the apps you want/need.

Good luck
