My iPhone 5 doesn't vibrate on silent, even with the settings turned on. Therefore, if my phone is set to silent and someone calls, I have no way of knowing unless I have my phone out and I'm looking at the screen. Anyone else having this problem? Is there a way to correct it?

Settings > Sounds > Ringtone
Go to the very top, Vibration. Make sure it's not 'None.' Choose whatever pattern of vibration that you'd prefer. You can even create your own pattern.
I started having this problem after updaing to iOS 6.0.2. No matter what settings I try and how many times I reboot, vibrate on silent does not work anymore.
Thanks Resno, this was it for me. It's confusing that there can be two ways to turn off vibrate while phone is silent; Apple might consider referencing one from the other...
And while I was there I learned about the custom vibrate tone! Shave-and-a-haircut-two-bits for my friends!
