I can't get my ipod to show up in my devices!!!

I have tried everything I can find on the website, I have called the tech support, and used my manual, but my device just WON'T SHOW UP!😠 It's a 4th generation ipod shuffle and it is brand new. I just bought it on the 15th. (yesterday) Please help me!😢
