iCal defaults to US Holidays - WHY

I opened iCal one day and clicked on Windows, US Holidays to see where they were. From that point on, whenever I open my iCal, the default calendar that shows is US Holidays. Under Preferences, my default is my iCloud calendar. Why is it doing this? So frustrating to open up iCal to see a blank calendar with just holidays. I've had to hit Command + 0 every single time I want to see my calendar. I use it daily so it's really inconvenient.
