Problems with ipad 1

I have been having 2 problems in the last few months. It's running slower &

frequently Safari quits and brings me back to the desktop. When I go back in I'm

at the same place that I left. I'm using 5.1.1 and have 5.3 GB available.

Firmware 07.11.01. Also both conditions occur at my kids locations, so it's not

just my local Comcast connection. In the past I've read about the genius bar

suggesting resetting the ipad or getting a firmware update at Genius bar.

Has anyone solved a similar problem?

I'm probably going to get the mini assuming it comes out, but would like the

ipad1 to work properly.
