How do you back up your itunes library? (iTunes version 10.7.0.21)

I haven't backed up my iTunes library in quite a while, so I find things are different now. I went through some of the topics under "iTunes Help" in iTunes and did a search for backing up your iTunes library, and I'm not finding the help I need.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I currently have iTunes version 10.7.0.21. I want to back up my iTunes library to an external hard drive and then restore it on another computer (a new computer I am to order online soon). So, what do I need to know about backing up my iTunes library? Will I have to deauthorize my current computer and then authorize the new computer?

Any help will be appreciated.

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

You don't have to deauthorize the old one if you are still using it. If you are not then you should deauthorize it. Yes, authorize the new one. You can have up to 5 computers authorized at any time.
