text insert mode

Dear Mac OS users,

On Windows and linux machines, the user has the ability to press to a special button called "INSERT". This button allows the computer to switch to a "text insert mode". This means that typing any text erases the previous text...

Is there any equivalent mode on Mac OS ? I am tired of deleting a previous text before inserting a new one. I would like to switch to a mode where any text typing erases the previous text.

All the best.

There is no Windows like "insert" mode available in a Mac.

Just highlight the word and type.
