I'm sorry, I thought I was replying to a thread where I posted on the same issue.  I did find a solution, you can read about it in the thread I started.  Here's a link.

I spoke with tech support from my internet provider (Knology) and we tried somethings to see what was going on. We then determined that it has to be something in the new iOS 6 that isn't compatible with secure privite internet running on WPA-2. He said that most public wifi operate on WPS. So made this is something Apple should look into.

My Iphone 4s has not backed up manually or automatically since Oct 3. I have seen in other threads the same issue which correlates to the latest update. I updated my phone on Oct 3rd and no backups. My wife has not updated hers and is backing up daily with no problems on the same WIFI network. just got my Reminder that I haven't backed up in 7 weeks. Apple please HELP.

Good luck with getting this fixed. Apple want even acknowledge that their is a problem. If you want to update your phone you will have to go to a public place that has wifi and back it up. It has something to do with the new iOS 6 update. They said it should be fixed with the 6.1 update but I'm still having the same problem.

I had this problem. The thing that solved it for me was changing my icloud email address from ...@icloud.com to ...@me.com under icloud account settings/advanced. Worked for me.

I've tried every suggestion that has been placed on these message boards, different tech sites, and I've changed the settings on my router. None have worked it would be nice if Apple would investigate and fix the problem. They want even acknowledge the problem exists. I really want to go back to the iOS 5 but I don't know how to do that.
