How do i convert a 1.73 GB .mov file to 120 MB? I need to upload it to a site for my college applications and I dont know how to make the file smaller. please help?

It's a job that lots of apps can do.
But we'd need to know what the original movie's format (resolution, frame rate, codec, and extension) is to be the most help.

It's Apple pro res 422, dimensions are 640x480, the file extension is .mov. Unfortunately my desktop has decided to act up right now so i can't get you any additonal information really. Is that enough?
I exported it using quicktime conversion from FCP7 with those settings
If you convert it to am MPEG4, you can do this with plenty to spare. It will be H.264 in an MP4 container. If you use Compressor, open the Settings pane and hit the + button at the top right. From the short drop down menu choose MPEG 4. In the Inspector click on the Encoder tab and bump the data rate to about 1500 Kps. Should be fine.
