Due to a window operating system failure, I had to reinstall the operting system ( Windows XP) and all of my software. This included a reinstall of I-tunes, version 10.7 I believe. All of my music files were in tact on a second hard drive. The new version of i-tunes recognizes all of the files and even the album artwork. The newer version will not play the music, however. Any suggestions?

Does it list them with exclamation marks, or does it just fail to play them when you try?

And have you tried the permissions fix yet? Apply to the media folder too if separated from the main iTunes library folder.
