When I delete songs from my ITunes Library, they reappear?

What is causing deleted songs to show back up in my library? Now I have three or four extra copies of songs I've tried to delete??

Where are the songs before you delete them?

Are you deleting from the iTunes interface or from Windows Explorer?

If iTunes does it mention sending them to the recycle bin?

Do you repeatedly import a specific folder to add new tracks to your library?

Hey, turningtest2 thanks for getting back to me. I was deleting the songs directly off my Desktop ITunes music library. I was sending them to the Recycle Bin, yet it seemed they would be right back in the music list again next time I checked. I kept going back in and deleting them as they reappeared and it seems that I've finally managed to get rid of them once and for all. Thanks for the help!
