How do I update my Ipad2 to iOS 6?....it keeps timing out on both IPad and when connected to PC

I've tried updating my Ipad2 to IOS 6 and it keeps timing out, I've tried it direct from the IPad and also downloading through ITunes whilst connected to the PC...any ideas?
