Incoming mail server problem with iCloud . . .
The incoming mail server dialog box is "greyed out" and I cannot type in the iCloud server. Why is this and how can I fix it?

You shouldn't need to change it: it's set up automatically when you enable Mail in System Preferences>iCloud. If you are having problems the best thing to do is to sign out there, and then sign back in again and enable Mail in the checklist to have it set up again.
Thanks Roger, everytime I try and add iCloud in my control panel and set it up with my Apple account I get a message that says "You can't sign in at this time. Try signing in again".
This is a larger problem than the email server: it may be a temporary server glitch or something more serious with your account. Unless you are in a hurry about it I should leave it for a day and see if it sorts itself out. If it doesn't you may need to contact Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee: you should point out that this is their problem and that you shouldn't need to pay for it.
