Hi, my ipod classic will sync to a pc running windows vista but wont sync to a pc running windows xp, has anyone got any ideas as to why this would be or how it can be overcome please.

Is iTunes on the XP Machine up to date (10.7 is the latest version at the time of this writing)? Did it used to connect previously?

Yes its all up to date, it used to connect to my laptop running vista but my laptop died so i moved my libary across to an old pc bunning xp but it just wont sync and doesnt show up when i run the diagnostics, but when i tried it on a friends laptop running vista it synced her entire libary (over 2500 songs) straight away.
Does the iPod appear in Device Manager?
iPod: Does not appear in Windows or iTunes and Device Manager is empty
