have ipod 5th cannot get system to see ipod to sync have itunes 7 any help

So the Mac and/or iTunes is not seeing the iPod when you have it connected? Have you worked through each and every suggestion in this Apple support document yet as needed?

iPod not recognized in iTunes and Mac desktop

I assume the iPod was previously recognized on this Mac? Any ideas as to what might have changed since the last time it was able to successfully connect and sync with iTunes?

I'm having the same issue. My iPod will charge but it won't sync. It was working fine but then wasn't. I thought it might be a pc issue so I thought I'd connect it to my mac and reformat it that way. But my mac did the same - would charge it but not recognize or to sync it.

Have you tried another USB sync cable, preferably a known working Apple branded one?
