She indicated RAW, but converting them to a JPEG format...
You should have no problem mounting the drive, viewing the contents, and viewing the files in JPG format, as the built-in app called "Preview" will open them. In the RAW format, it actually depends on the camera that created them, since some RAW formats are supported and some are not. You would probably use iPhoto, instead of Preview for RAW.
