Remove the new memory and replace the old.

In case you have the right RAM, make sure the RAM snaps securely into their proper slots.
Macs are finicky about the type of RAM they use.
We need the year, CPU speed and screen size and how much RAM you had in your iMac.
With this info, we can tell you the proper RAM specs you and how much RAM you can put into your iMac.
In the meantime, you are going to need to purchase reliable and proper RAM from online RAM vendors Crucial memory or OWC (macsales).
