springboard crash

HI i have a iphone 4 gsm 16 gig and it keeps having spring board crashs. It happpened on ios 5.1.1 so i updated to ios 6 and its still doing it casue i thought it was a bug in the software but i guess it not. I dont know if its a hardware problem thats on my phone and i think it is. i went in my dianostics and usage and looked under dianogstics and usage data and there are sevarl crash reports of my spring board some say "Latestcrash.springboard" "lastestcrash-SpringBoard.plist". I am not jailbroken either. Can someone tell me if this is a hardware problem or do i need a knew phone from apple cause i still have warrenty.
