NBA LEAGUE PASS ON APPLE TV

I just bought the latest version of the apple tv and it has its last update. I bought the nba league pass and I was under the impression that I wouldn't need to stream or anything given that the nba app is there> Any suggestions?

Hey Brian thanks for the reply. Like I said, I just bought the new ATV and NBA league pass and thought I could just sign in the nba app and watch the games, sort of like the netflix app on the ATV.My question was directed towards that, Can I just sign in the NBA app on ATV and watch games without Airplay or cables? sorry I'm new to this. Also the League pass is for regular season and it hasn't started maybe it'll give me a watch game option once it starts. Not sure though.

your help is appreciated

The Netflix app is streaming the content. Both would work the same way.

>Can I just sign in the NBA app on ATV and watch games without Airplay or cables?

Why would you need Airplay or cables? Neither woudl be involved to connect ATV to your TV. If Netflix is working for you then I assume the ATV must already be connected to your TV? So there is nothing else to connect. You would just select the NBA app on ATV and use it. Are you using the NBA on your phone or iPad instead? If so you need to use the one on ATV if you want to watch it on ATV.

I had been watching recap videos a week ago before I even signed up for AppleTV. Now the NBA is not available at all. It may be that it will resume once the regular season games start but it does seem right the way it is not working at all now.

My experience is the same as BlaStar's. From the moment I bought my AppleTV in September up until two days ago, I could watch summer league and preseason game highlights by selecting the NBA icon in Apple TV and then selecting Game Highlights, Now, when I select Game Highlights, I get a message reading, "NBA is unavailable. Try again later."

(@ Brian Cook4: The icon is there and the other selections (standings, etc.) go where they're supposed to. It's just game highlights that has stopped working.)

I have a ticket open with NBA League Pass. They tried to close it with a canned reply about how League Pass doesn't include preseason games. I reopened it by observing that the reply was nonresponsive to the question - which is about the now-disappeared ability to watch game highlights, not the never-present ability to watch preseason games.

The icon is there. When I click on the icon I get the choices: Standings, Game Highlights, NBA on iTunes, and Settings. It used to be even before I signed up for the NBA Broadband that when I selected Game Highlights I could watch clips of games. Now when I select Game Highlights I get "NBA is unavailable. Try again later."

Since this has been going on for several days I am thinking this is unrelated to the league pass but somehow a technology disconnect between Apple and NBA. Has something in the Apple TV been updated in the last week or two that may have cause this? Or has some change occurred with the way the NBA is doing it?

Hey guys, thanks for all your help, but i'm afraid im new to the whole leauge pass and ATV. I bought the choice league pass which allows you to follow 5 teams, I don't know how to chose my 5 teams, and the league pass service center is possibly the worst I've ever encountered. How can I choose my 5 teams? and will they appear on my ATV saved? please let me knos

Amen to nolospr's post. Not “possibly” the worst...it is THE worst online service center I've seen. Have put in two trouble tickets in the last 4 days and no response to either. Got confirming emails but no answers to the questions raised. Tried to get a chat going but the link doesn't work. I signed up about 10 days ago...never was given an opportunity to select my 5 teams...watched a few minutes of 3-4 games on Wednesday night, then tried to watch the one team I am truly interested in and was shown a message saying the team is not part of my package. There is no phone number, can't chat online, no response to trouble tickets, and the support site's pages take the user in a circle. It's a dead end. I just want to watch one NBA team when they aren't blacked out. Seems like my only option is to dispute the charge via my Amex card. Anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

Hi,

The Apple TV app for NBA is now showing Highlights again since teh season started.. However, from all thr information I have managed to gather, the League Pass outside of the USA does not work on the Apple TV. So, you can watch on your Mac/PC, iPhone, iPad, Android phone, etc but not Apple TV.

Of course, if you use an iPhone, iPad or Mac running Mountain Lion, all of these devices can AirPlay the video to the Apple TV.

But I do feel your pain. I would much rather be able to just turn on the Apple TV and have that stream the games directly without using a 3rd party solution!!!!

Can anyone help? I just purchased the NBA League pass for broadband. It works fine on my PC, but I tried to Log in to the NBA app on my apple TV. I entered my email and password, but it says the account cannot be validated. Any ideas?

Hi,

I'm very interested in knowing if AppleTV in Sweden has an NBA app and it works? I'm considering to buy the AppleTV device along with an NBA International League Pass. So that I can stream the NBA matches directly in the AppleTV (I'm not interested in watching the matches live, but recorded matches the next evening, since I must sleep at night 🙂). Is this possible?

In this page http://watch.nba.com/nba/subscribe I see that Sweden is one of the countries in which this is available, but I would like a confirmation from somebody that it works, given the access troubles I'm reading from people in other countries.

Thanks!

Best Regards.

I am having the same issues as some of the other people on here. Purchased my league pass last week, works fine on computer but does not work on apple tv. I can not even get logged in. When I put in username and password (which I know are right), I get a timeout message. Really annoying and as has been previously stated, the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. They are virtually impossible to get a hold of.

Since last Wednesday the NBA App appears on the ATV menu when set to the UK iTunes Store in the menu. This didn't happen before and only showed up when the US store was selected.

I entered my login info and can now watch using the International League Pass on the ATV without needing a computer or iPhone, etc to initiate the streaming. Heaven!!

Not sure if this works in other countries though so you will have to experiment with setting your ATV to your local iTunes region.

I had the same problem and the problem was that I had to many devices registered to my NBA Game Time account. You can only register 5 devices (Apple TV, iDevices, Xbox), you can delete your devices in the settings on the watch.nba.com website. You can can also send an email to: nbasupport@neullion.com. They answered me within 24 hours and reset all my devices.

Hi,

Bought Apple TV today in The Netherlands, already had a NBA League Pass, tried setting it up today, but after trying Itunes store set up for the Netherlands or the UK, I keep getting an Auth Failed message. Does anybody have a clue what could be going wrong? I am sure the login information is correct, and it all works fine on my PC, iPhone and iPad, just won't work on my ATV (which kind of *****, since I bought the ATV to watch NBA on my tv..).

Any more tips on what to try or what I might be doing wrong? The loading of the NBA app takes a long time, is that normal? It also could be some kind of time out? But I am not sure about that..

Thanks in advance!

I solved my issue by unplugging the Ethernet cord and getting on the network via wifi. I suggest anyone having problems adds this to their troubleshooting as this is known to be an issue with the atv and league pass (for some reason they can't figure this out - so until they do this is the only option).
