itunes install error

ok so i've not had an issue with itunes before. This time I tried updating to the 10.7 version and it seemed to run fine until I tried to open itunes, an error message popped saying that the shorcut refers to an app that requires administrative privileges and i had to verify my privileges. So i uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall and now i have an error message that says "Error writing to file: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\CD Configuration\gcdrdll.cfg. Verify that you have access to that directory". i follow the path in my computer with no issues but when i get into the CD Configuration folder, the file gcdrdll.cfg isnt there, its missing. is there any way to fix this problem?

I had this same problem in the install after running iTunes for the last 2-3 years. Anyways I was able to "verify access" really easily. The file is missing because it has not been created yet from install. Follow the path up C:\Program Files (x86) and then right click on iTunes folder, click on properties, you will need to change the privealage on your system to allow correct install. Mine downloaded right away and works fine now, hope this helps 🙂
