How to transfer all info from old iPhone to new iPhone 5

Back up your old phone, then restore your new one to this backup, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109.

I'm trying to move data/restore my new ATT 5 from my old 3G. I had to use iTunes and I followed the directions in the link a couple posts above, but I never got the option at step 5 to "restore from a Backup". instead I got a confirmation page that xxx-xxx-xxxx was my phone number. i said yes.

how do i restore from the old 3G now? (one point the 3g was running ios 5.1.1, not sure if that matters).

appreciate any help/advice

Is this a backup on your computer that you made with iTunes, or is it an iCloud backup?

iTunes backup for the 3.

After some searching I found a similar question you just answered - Setting>General> Reset.

That seems to be doing the trick.

it's is restoring now from the old 3 back-up.
