I have an old Epson scanner (Perfection 1250) and the old scanner app doesn't run under 10.8, so I updated it by powering up the scanner, connecting it to my Mac and run Apple S/w update - but there is no scanner app

If you open Image Capture, which is located in Applications, does this show your 1250 as being connected and does it let you scan?
