can't add photos to iPhoto library

Hmmmmmm, what changed and when? An iPhoto update? Did you just load Mountain Lion? Are you receiving some sort of error screen? Is this only from Mail that you have this problem or are you experiencing issues when working inside of iPhoto too?

Just double-checking, we are talking about your local iPhoto library and not Photo Stream, right? If you can give us just a little more to work with, someone may have a good idea for you.

In the interest of full disclosure 🙂 , I do not use iPhoto very much, being a Lightroom guy myself. I have worked with it enough though to have a pretty descent understanding of how it works though. If some iPhoto guru wants to run with this one though, I certainly won't be offended......

That’s a known issue with the current versions of Mail and iPhoto. Workaroud: Drag the images from the email to the iPhoto icon on the dock. Then wait for them to fix it.
