iCloud indicates I've reached the storage limit, but when I check the manage storage it indicates I've only used 8/25gb?
Perhaps the message you are getting pertains to the storage on your device, not icloud.
Go to
Settings>General>Usage. This tells how much storage is used on both iCloud and on the device.
OK. It sounds like this is just a bug in there alert software. It would be nice if Apple would fix that issue. I told my dad to ignore it since, like you, the iCloud System Preference screen shows he has plenty of space available.
Try clicking the "manage" button in the lower right. That will answer your question.
When I click "manage" I get a list of all app data and the storage amount used, including emails.
What version of iOS are you using? I use Mountain Lion.
I'm only using my iMac. I have no other devices. Here is the message that was sent to me:
"Your iCloud storage is full -
You have now exceeded your iCloud storage, including an additional amount provided to allow you to continue receiving email. As a result, you will not be able to send or receive new email messages with your iCloud email address until you free up storage space or buy more storage."
However, when I check the amount of storage, I'm not over my limit. Here's the screen shot:
Is there a way to check how much of the 25GB is allocated to my Mail account?

Thanks, but there are no answers there either. Once I click 'manage', there are only two options: 'change my account', 'view my account'. 'View my account' only show that I have not gone over my quota and 'Change my account' circles back to upgrading.
My question is: Why is it giving me a full storage message when I have ample storage left?
Did you ever find a fix to this issue. My dad is seeing the same thing. He received an e-mail (that looks legit) saying he was over his quota, but the iCloud System Preference screen shows he's only using about half of his 5 GB quota. Strange.
I'm on version 10.7.5
I do see a list of app data (see screen capture), but I'm still not over the quota.
