Windows will not recognize my new ipod nano 7th generation. I went to the Windows Compatibility Center and found out it's because currently there are only drivers for gens 1-6.

Again, you need iTunes 10.7 that includes updated drivers and support for the 7G Nano.

Actually I checked that before I posted. I have 10.7.
That's a good start. What happens when you plug the 7G Nano in to your PC? What shows on the iPod's display?

Well, the iPod display shows nothing, which is probably a bad start. The computer first shows Windows trying to find & install the correct driver for the device. It searches for the driver for a while, then can't find it. Then it says that Windows cannot recognize the new hardware. iTunes does not recognize the iPod, either. Like I said earlier, I checked the Windows Compatability Center to see if they had a driver for the 7G that I could download but it is not available. They had a feature where you could suggest hardware/software that is not compatabile so I did that for the 7G.
Try removing and re-installing all Apple related software using the exact instructions in this Apple support document.

Ok well that seems a little far. I thank you for your advice and appreciate your help, but I am going to wait for Windows Compatability Center to get back to me and see if they will put out the new driver before I do anything like that. If they don't soon, I will try your idea. Thanks again for all your help and patience.
For anyone else who might have had this problem, the driver is now available.
