Screen issues" Rainbow" effect

I have a 5th generation black 60 gb ipod. I have noticed a pretty unique trend on my screen from the bottom of the screen on up. I notice that there is a rainbow glow on the screen. Looks like insdie the screen. I really noticed it when I was wearing my sunglasses. I took them off because I thought it was the shade of the glasses that cause it but after I took them off I still noticed it.
I thought maybe that the screen was bleeding or something so I took it to Aplle store and 1 guy said sure they can look at it and test it. I agreed and waited 10 mins for this moron who said "what rainbow"? I walked out of the store upset.Th guy that agreed for me to see a tech said he can have someone else test it but I was upset and thinking they must think Im the moron. I know its there the other worker and my freinds see it but the moron tech didnt. Kinda of like when you take your car to the service drive and try to explain an issue with your car. Anyhoot is the anyone out there that have the same rainbow glow on their screen? Try putting on some sunglasses and you could really see it.

Yes I have a that rainbow thing too; it's not a problem all iPods have them; my iPod that was stolen had it and my Nano has it. You shouldn't worry about it.

Yeah my 5th gen video iPod has the same thing, it is actually different at different angles. I think it is just how the sun and light hits the plastic or acrylic screen. You shouldnt have a problem.

I'm sorry but this is a problem. I have the same issue. At first I thought it was a reaction to the cold back in February, but realized not. The "rainbow" happens on mine and it comes and goes. It can be seen at any angle and makes it almost impossible to see and video, and some of the text. It's so intermittent that it's there one minute and then gone the next, but may last for 6 minutes. Try watching a video with that.

I also have a short battery life issue. I only get 6-7 hours of audio only time. This will give me the reason for a "replacement" without having to complain about the intermittent rainbow.

Could be a problem with both of yours, I know mine is just the sun and light because the "rainbow" is not in the same place or the same shape when I do see it, I only see it if I hole my iPod at a angle in the sun or light. Yours could be a problem with the display and should be addressed. I do believe the iPod display is a LCD and this would happen with a defective LCD display. Post back your outcome. Also do not be sorry.
