My softwear wont update due to this fault (10.150.101.93) can you help?

That looks like an IP address, not an error message. Please post back and provide more details about your setup, what you're trying to update, how you're updating (Software Update in Mac OS X?) and the exact nature of the problem, including the full text of any error message. Then perhaps someone can offer suggestions.

I have tried to do a software update via the apple icon at the top of the screen and it has come back with the following error message
"The Software update server (10.150.101.93) is not responding"
I have checked my wireless connection and its working ok.
There is nothing in particular that i am trying to update.

Try this:
In the [harddrive]/Library/Preferences folder, find the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist and move it to the Desktop. Then log out of your account, log back in and run Software Update. If it runs correctly then you can delete the file you moved onto the desktop.
