Problem with Aperture 1.1 and new Quad Core

I recently purchased Aperture, and 1.0 and 1.01 have worked fine on my machine. I downloaded the 1.1 update, and now I get an error stating that my "computer does not meet minimum requirements, Aperture requires a display that has a resolution of at least 1024 x 768." Well, I'm running a Quad-Core with a Sony HD LCD flat panel that is set at a resolution of 1280x768. How do I fix this?

Trying a new or different set of vga cables, or try choosing Detect Displays from the Displays preferences menu in the top main menu or System Preferences, can reset the display state so it doesn't read as generic VGA display (ie, 800x600 thus unsupported)

Here is the problem that I have run into. Aperture tells me that I have to have a display resolution of 1280 x 854. Unfortunately, my HD Sony monitor only displays up to 1366 x 768. So, for the difference between 768 and 854, Aperture 1.1 will not run on my system, no matter HOW many times I detect displays, uninstall/reinstall. It doesn't matter. I find it very disappointing that Apple has actually put a piece of software out with such an arbitrary requirement, and I hope they fix it soon.
