So yes, you can print and scan.
You may want to go to System Preferences > Print & Scan and remove your printer (using the minus sign on the bottom) and then re-add it (with the plus sign). There is probably a separate scan tab once the printer re-installs. Apple will provide the driver for you and keep it current as well.
The article says "Lion", but it's the most current, so Mountain Lion should support it as well.

but after reading the aforementioned article all is working no need.

are you using manager (will assume yes) are u doing, image, ocr, email or file
then again are u pushing the scan from the printer
also what is the error message code if using the manager
