how do I get my photo stream folder on my PC to update faster, more often etc?

When I first started using icloud I could take a photo and in seconds it would show up on my ipad and my PC. Now I take a picture and it updates on my ipad, but not on my PC. If there was a button that I could push to update the forlder I would just do that but with everything being "automatic" there is nothing to push and nowher to go to troubleshoot.

I once read that I shoudl reinstall the icloud manager on my PC, but I am not doing that everytime I want to add a photo. And I am not emailing all the opictures to my self because this prodeuct doesn;t work as advertized.

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions?
