Quick ken burns effect on many images
I have to do ken burns effect on a lot of still images (over 60) and I'd like to do it in a quick way without having to set on every image the "start" and "end" frames...
Is there a way to do it?

If you can live with all the images moving the same, set the effect on the first one, then Copy the 'clip' in the timeline and Paste Effect (cmd-opt-v) on the rest of the clips.. ;-)
But that way all the clips have same KB movement...., i.e. from left to right and from wide to tight....
Actually, it IS possible!
Just tried it again, in 10.0.5:
Drag all the images to the timeline. Select them all!
In the Inspector: Video: Crop; select Ken Burns as the Type.. FCPX now adds random KB effect to all the images Boom! :-)
Yeah, it works!!
Ok folk! Thanks 😉
So when I try this 10.2.3 it will only let me select one image at a time to do the Ken Burns effect. I'd like to do this to about 200 images all at once... Am I missing anything?

Start by selecting the images in the timeline - you can even do Command-A to Select All.
If the Inspector is not already open, hit Command-4 to open it (or press the Inspector button).
Just as Jakob wrote, select Ken Burns in the Crop area of the Inspector:
Done!
also, if your photos have faces, select them and choose modify > analyze and fix, check find people, and click ok. then, apply ken burns, and see it move to the faces in the photos
Hi Luis,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I still cannot get this to work. I even made a screen shot video to show what happens:
Ken Burns Effect - help.mov - Google Drive
Basically I can select as many photos as I want but it will only do the Ken Burns effect for the one photo that it is on and so I have to do Ken Burns for every photo one at a time. Am I doing something wrong (i.e. stupid!) here?
Thanks again!
Thank you.
That did it.
Still learning this stuff and I appreciate the help!
Hi James,
I tried this and "Analyze and Fix" is grayed out. I must be missing something...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
