Oct 20, 2012 5:32 PM in response to stingray_onby ChrisJ4203,Facetime via cellular has to be supported by the carrier. Check with the carrier to see if they support it and if there are any restrictions. AT&T in the US has restrictions placed on using Facetime via cellular.

Oct 20, 2012 6:24 PM in response to electronicsguyby deggie,That is not true. You can do so with AT&T if you have the right plan.

Oct 20, 2012 6:26 PM in response to stingray_onby chrisfromgastonia,Sprint and Verizon has no plan change. At & t you have to change your plan to use facetime.

Oct 20, 2012 6:59 PM in response to deggieby electronicsguy, yeah, and a case has been filed against them for this unfair practice. hope it goes thru!

Oct 20, 2012 7:02 PM in response to electronicsguyby deggie,What "case"? And how is this practice unfair? I had the unlimited plan (which really is not unlimited as they cap at 3GB) but switched to the family share to get personal hotspot and FaceTime on my iPhone and iPad. Nowhere did AT&T ever say such features would be available with the unlimited plan which is now grandfathered. I was actually surprised when they allowed moving the plan to LTE.
Read your original agreement for your unlimited plan.

Oct 20, 2012 7:07 PM in response to deggieby electronicsguy, read the facetime case against fcc.
why is it unfair: when you buy eggs from your market, does the manufacturer specify what dish you can or cannot make?
if you buy a car, can toyota charge you extra to drive on freeways?
similarly..if i have 2 gb data...its my problem if i use it for facetime or if i use it for emails, youtube, etc.
anyways, we'll see what the court has to say about it. just because they make you sign an agreement, doesn't mean its fair-play according to industry rules.
