Is your computer now properly updated? Everything working OK? If so, then just ignore the prompts whenever you use App Store unless you want to go through the time for reinstalling Mountain Lion to see if that helps.

If you select About This Mac from the Apple menu what version of Mountain Lion does it show installed? If you displays 10.8.2 then click on the version displayed which should reveal a Build number. What is that?
